Book your spot to experience Biidaaban: First Light, a virtual reality (VR) time-jump into a radically different Toronto of tomorrow, live in Nathan Phillips Square. If your preferred day or time is sold out, please visit us on site as some walk-up and stand-by spaces will be available, while supplies last.
The city square is flooded. Its infrastructure has merged with the local fauna; mature trees grow through cracks in the sidewalks and vines cover south-facing walls. People commute via canoe and grow vegetables on skyscraper roofs. Urban life is thriving.
Produced by the National Film Board of Canada and presented in collaboration with the City of Toronto and imagineNATIVE Film and Media Arts Festival, Biidaaban: First Light is an interactive VR experience by award-winning Anishinaabe artist Lisa Jackson, 3D artist Mathew Borrett, digital design and production agency Jam3 and the NFB.
Open noon to 7pm on September 18, from 8am to 7pm on September 19-21, from 9am to 7pm on September 22-23 and from 8am to 5pm on September 24.
Visit nfb.ca/biidaaban for more information and to watch the trailer.
